Born in 1991, Seoul, Republic of Korea

After majoring in textile crafts at university, I built my career as a product, graphic, and fashion designer. However, I soon found myself living like a robot working in a factory, going through the motions without any emotion or soul in the midst of the same busy routine every day. This led me to notice the contrast with the children singing joyfully in the streets and other pure beings who find happiness in the simplest things. These experiences prompted me to explore my true self, and I began painting. Recently, inspired by the environmental issues that have become pressing social and economic concerns, I started working on a series titled “Wishes for the Forgotten and Abandoned.” Drawing from my background in textile crafts, I create three-dimensional pieces by covering discarded waste materials with eco-friendly textile fabrics. I also expand my artistic world by incorporating traditional Korean elements with the use of hanji paper and ink.

잊혀진 것들과 사라지는 것들에 대한 염원念願

지구상에 많은 생명들이 잊혀지고 버려지고 소외되고 있다.

몸집이 큰 것들에서부터 눈에 잘 보이지  않은 작은 것들까지 하루만에 존재가 사라지고 있다.

​평면, 입체 조형 작품들은 한국 전통 속에서 공동체와 공간을 지켜온 수호적 존재를 현대 공예 조형으로

재해석한 작품들로 구성된다. 범,해태, 용 등은 민화, 궁궐 건축 장식, 설화 속에서 삶의 터전을 지켜온

상징적 존재로, 한국적 세계관 속 '지킴'의 의미를 담고 있다. 작품은 한국 사회에서 배출된 플라스틱 폐기물을

재생한 섬유 소재 위에 자연 유래 섬유를 덮어 제작된다. 이는 동시대의 물질을 조형에 끌어들이는 동시에, 보호와 돌봄의 행위를 시각화한 작업으로 한국에서 사라지고 잊혀지는 생물들에 대한 기억과 염원을 담고 있다.

이를 통해 전통적 수호의 개념을 현대적 맥락에서 재해석하고자 한다.
